Brightly-decorated boats will line the banks of the River Medway throughout Maidstone town centre next weekend.
Maidstone Boat Gathering takes place on Saturday 28 July between midday and 6pm.
The Mayor of Maidstone Dave Naghi and his guests will see the boats from the river – on board Kentish Lady – before he goes to meet the owners and decide on the best-dressed craft.
A raft race, in aid of the Heart of Kent Hospice, will take place around 2/2.30pm.
Food and drink will be on sale along the riverfront at Cruisers Kiosk (Kentish Lady mooring), Embankments (outside Archbishops Palace), The Old Boat Cafe (between Maidstone Bridge and St Peters Bridge) and the Thai Orchid (next to Maidstone Crown Court).
There will also be live music on the terrace at Thai Orchid during the afternoon.
